Kintamani Sunrise & Coffee Experience
Overview
Start your morning in Bali’s highlands with the scent of coffee and the mountain breeze. Kintamani Nature & Coffee Experience invites you to catch the sunrise over Mount Batur before heading to a local coffee farm in Gunungbau. Here, you’ll learn how Bali’s famous coffee is processed from bean to cup. Meet the local farmers, hear their stories, and taste the love that makes every sip so special.
*We’ll confirm with you 3 days in advance. If there’s only 1 participant overall, we’ll unfortunately have to cancel—but don’t worry, we’ll either reschedule or offer a full refund or credit for a future experience.
We’ll inform you 1 day in advance about the pick-up times, since it may change if only one participant joins from a pick-up spot, as routes might be changed.

Your Activity
Sunrise at Mount Batur
Your day starts early with a calm drive up to one of Bali’s best sunrise viewpoints. As the first light appears over Mount Batur and the lake below, you enjoy the cool, fresh air of Kintamani without the crowds and noise. You’ll have a simple breakfast, pastry and a warm drink, sitting in a local café that faces the sunrise, so you can relax, watch the sky change, and ease into the day instead of rushing through it.
Coffee Farm Visit & Tasting
Next stop is a small coffee farm in Gunungbau. Here, you’ll be welcomed by Bli Wana, a local coffee processor who has spent years perfecting his roast. You’ll walk between rows of coffee trees, touch the soil, and see up close how Kintamani coffee gets its bright, citrusy character from the high altitude and fertile land.
Bli Wana will walk you through how they grow, harvest, and process the beans, and you’re free to ask him anything you’ve ever wanted to know about coffee. Before heading back, you’ll take home a small bag of roasted beans, a little piece of Gunungbau you can brew again at home.

Our Effort for Sustainable Tourism

The People Behind the Coffee
The coffee farm in Gunungbau is run by Bli Wana and his family, who have cared for this land for generations. By joining the trip, you’re supporting their work and helping keep their coffee tradition alive for the next generation.

Empowering Farmers Through Tourism
Tourism doesn’t have to just take—it can give back. By opening their farms to travelers, Kintamani’s coffee producers share their stories and traditions directly with those who visit. Every trip contributes to fair income, community projects, and environmental sustainability. It’s a small but real way to make tourism work for everyone.

Here’s what our guests have to say!
Anastasiia BelashovaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We spent the weekend joining the Impact Trip Canang Sari Making Class and the Melukat ceremony at Tirta Empul. It was a very interesting and meaningful experience, a real chance to learn about Balinese culture. Everything was well organized from start to finish, and the team guided us clearly through each part of the experience. We also enjoyed meeting other nomads who are just as interested in local culture as we are. Overall it was a wonderful and memorable day! We would definitely recommend it to others! Sandra GomezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an amazing time at the kite-making experience. It was truly special to make a kite alongside a Balinese family with decades of experience. The whole process was so authentic and meaningful. I definitely recommend this activity to anyone looking for a unique cultural experience. Phil NichollsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. These guys really do amazing work and put on beautifully curated events. I always feel that any events and trips I attend will be helping to contribute to local causes and communities which is so important. The events themselves always involves connecting with local communities and gives you the chance to really learn from knowledgeable and passionate individuals. Honestly, Nomad's Giving Back are an inspiration, the world needs more people like this. Margot PanissetTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an amazing experience with Made and Mr. Mardika. I met them for a fire ceremony and meditation in Kelusa village, called Homa Yadnya in balinese culture. The priest, Mr Mardika, hold the ceremony and shared many insights from his culture. Made accompanied me throughout the ceremony and translated as we went along. The sharing was really enriching and authentic, I loved it and will come back with pleasure :-) Tom LuckettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a great time at the event, Muti and her little helpers were really friendly and made everyone in the group feel welcome ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ebony AllenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a great time on the Nomads Giving Back Nyepi tour. Wonderful people, amazing experience. Would recommend! Jana StanfieldTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So glad Nomads Giving Back exists, to give us a way to connect with others who want to be givers and not takers. I enjoyed the get-togethers, getting to know other difference makers, and I love it that this gives me a way to volunteer at the same time I'm spending time with people I admire. Great concept, great team. Marion BazinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a great community to hang out with! My initial goal was to meet new people (both locals and foreigners), and do activities together, so I started attending their Cultural Game Nights in Canggu, which are always a lot of fun. As adults, we sometimes take ourselves too seriously and forget to be playful, so those evenings are a great way of bringing back the fun after a busy week! I’ve also joined one of their Impact Trips. I wanted to learn more about Bali’s culture and traditions, and travel a little off the beaten paths, where no traditional tour agency or guide would ever take me. I was lucky to share meaningful moments with a local family who taught me how to craft Balinese offerings in a remote village. I really loved the concept of traveling beyond the sole purpose of visiting places, and of giving part of the proceeds to a family in need. I find any experience so much more valuable when it has meaning and purpose! And if that weren't enough, I’ve also attended one of their online Masterminds, which was a great way for me to connect with fellow digital nomads/entrepreneurs and get support and feedback on my work. Nomads Giving Back offers connections and experiences across the board, from tourism, to entertainment, to entrepreneurship. And to top it all off, the team members are super friendly, fun, and kind. Thank you so much guys for all you do. See you soon! Táňa NovákováTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This organization is created by such a lovely people ! 🥹Made me feel welcomed and gave me feeling of a family once I firstly came to Bali not knowing anybody.
